Bengaluru, April 20: Indian Youth Congress President B.V. Srinivas has slapped a legal notice to the state BJP for indulging in a ‘slanderous and malicious campaign’ against him.

Srinivas’ advocates Shathabhish Shivanna and Abhishek Janardhan, in the notice, have said that the notice is necessitated to serve as a stern warning to the BJP cautioning them of grave consequences that will ensue as a result of their flagrant disregard for the law.

“The BJP, through its official twitter, has wilfully and maliciously engaged in a flagrant campaign of slander and defamation attempting to sully the good name and reputation of our client B. V. Srinivas,” the notice stated.

According to the two advocates, the odious tweets in question dated 18th and 20th April, have deliberately misconstrued statements made by Dr Angkita Dutta,” they stated in the notice.

The notice further stated that an allegation of harassment has been transformed into sexual harassment and have further promulgated a series of false, malevolent and deranged accusations against our client.

“Our client demands that the BJP immediately deletes the offending tweets and issue a public apology for the disgraceful actions. If not, you should be prepared to face the prospect of punitive damages,” the notice stated.
