Bengaluru, April 20: Union Minister of State for Agriculture Shobha Karandlaje on Thursday alleged that criminals and anti- nationals have been made star campaigners by the Congress party.
Speaking to media at BJP media centre, Shobha took up the name of Imran Prathapgarhi, Congress Rajya Sabha MP, who has been listed as star campaigner by the Congress as ‘instance’ for its criminal attitude.

“Imran Prathapgarhi is a criminal. He was a close associate of Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed, the two Don’s of Uttar Pradesh who were gunned down recently. How can such a notorious man be a star campaigner,” Shobha wondered.
Shobha further alleged that the Congress party could not make Imran Prathapgarhi as Rajya Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh and hence he was made MP from Maharashtra.

“I want to ask the Congress as to what is the compulsion for the Congress to favour a gangster and appoint him as star campaigner,” Shobha said and added, “this only proves that there is a dearth of intelligent and quality leaders in the Grand Old Party.”
The Union Minister claimed that the BJP’s star campaigner list is full of people with credibility and acceptability. “Our star campaigners will go to the people with confidence, modesty and with our sterling performance in the government,” Shobha Karandlaje asserted.
