Bengaluru, April 19: Cine actor Kiccha Sudeep’s name does not figure in the 40-member list of star campaigners released by the BJP here today.
While Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa leads the star campaigner list, Kiccha Sudeep, however, is conspicuous by his absence.
The names of Shobha Karandlaje, Nalin Kateel, Basavaraj Bommai, cine actors Shruthi and Tara are mentioned.

Kiccha Sudeep was made to sit next to Basavaraj Bommai in the press conference where he announced that the famous actor will campaign for the party. “Sudeep, however, will not join the party but will campaign actively,” Bommai had said.
Sudeep, on his part, had also said that he will ‘actively’ work for the BJP ‘as instructed by the Chief Minister’
However, Sudeep’s name is not mentioned in the star campaigner list. Does it mean that he will campaign like any other ordinary leader and worker?
BJP sources clarified that Kiccha Sudeep will campaign only in those constituencies suggested by Bommai and the party.
“Star campaigner is required to go throughout the state. But in Sudeep’s case, he will go only to selected Assembly segments. Hence his name is not in the Star Campaigner list,” a leader explained.
So, the “Star” of Kannada tinsel world is no more a “Star” in the BJP.
