Bengaluru, April 17: BJP general secretary and MLC N. Ravi Kumar has predicted that Jagadish Shettar will soon be disgusted in Congress.
“Very soon Shettar will quit Congress. He will feel the atmosphere suffocating. He cannot stay there for long,” Ravi Kumar said, while speaking to The Newz Peg.
Ravi Kumar recalled that former BJP President and Sakleshpur MLA too had joined Congress after he was expelled from the party in early 2000 but he could survive in Congress for a long time.
“Late Shivappa yearned to come back to BJP as the Congress used him in 2004 elections and later dumped him. Considering Shivappa’s contribution to the party in the past, we readmitted him. Shettar too will be used and later will be dropped like a hot potato. It is only a matter of time,” Ravi Kumar explained.
According to Ravi Kumar, Shettar was “born” in a democratic party and his temperament of being a free and independent thinking attitude will not find space in the highly centralized set up like the Congress.
“Today is the first day. Everything will look rosy. As days goes, Shettar will realise in a rather hard way that Congress is not a bed of roses but a carpet of thorns,” Ravi Kumar opined.
He said he will not be surprised if the whole episode turns out to become “love at first sight; divorce after first night”
