New Delhi, April 12: KGF former MLA Sampangi’s daughter Ashwini Sampangi, Congress turncoat Nagaraj Chabbi and former Revenue Minister Karunakar Reddy are among the 23 candidates in BJP’s second list released on Wednesday late night.
The BJP has chosen Nagaraj Chabbi – who quit Congress three days ago – for Kalghatagi constituency whereas Ashwini Sampangi will fight from KGF reserve constituency.
KGF will witness battle between two women – sitting Congress MLA Roopa Shashidhar and Ashwini Sampangi.
Intetestingly, B. S. Yediyurappa’s right hand man N. R. Santhosh has been denied ticket from Arasikere. Instead, the party has chosen G. V. Basavaraju.
Former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has not found place in the second list for Hubli – Dharwad Central.
In Channagiri represented by scam-tainted Madal Virupakshappa, the BJP has chosen Shiva Kumar.
Former minister S. K. Bellubbi, a longtime associate of the party, has been accommodated from Basavanabagewadi.
The party has not finalized tickets to high profile constituencies such as Govindarajanagar (represented by V. Somanna) and Mahadevapura (represented by Aravinda Limbavali) Shimoga city (represented by K. S. Eshwarappa) and Krishnaraja (represented by S. A. Ramdas).
