Bengaluru, April 11: It is a running tragedy in JDS over Hassan Assembly seat. The “Sahodarara Savaal” – Brothers Challenge – continued on Monday with H. D. Revanna calling on his father and party patriarch H. D. Deve Gowda seeking ticket for his wife Bhavani Revanna from Hassan.

However, H. D. Kumaraswamy, the party’s Chief Campaigner and Strategist, is dead against his sister-in-law contesting from Hassan. “There is no change in my stance. An ordinary worker will contest. Bhavani Revanna will lose if she is given ticket,” Kumaraswamy has said, in no uncertain and unambigious terms.

Revanna, on his part, is trying all sorts of tricks – including a veiled blackmail – to get ticket to his wife. “If Bhavani is not given ticket, then I may contest as Independent in Holenarsipur,” Revanna is believed to have told some of his friends.

Kumaraswamy says his assessment is pragmatic based on ground reality. The situation in Hassan is not conducive for anyone from our party to contest. Kumaraswamy’s contention is that if Bhavani loses from Hassan, then it is a slap on the face of the family as well as the party.

“Revanna does not understand this. He is being fed with wrong information from certain Shakunis who are out to destroy Deve Gowda family and the party. I am sure of this conspiracy. But for me, party is supreme. There is no personal prestige involved in this issue,” Kumaraswamy said. He, however, did not name or mention who the Shakunis are in this game.

Not to be left behind, Revanna once again called on his father at latter’s Padmanabhanagar residence on Tuesday in order to convince the party supremo. “Revanna is making repeated attempts to convince his father, who in turn, has to speak to Kumaraswamy to get ticket to Bhavani. The problem is Revanna is not speaking to Kumaraswamy directly. He is trying through Deve Gowda. Let’s see what will be the outcome of Tuesday’s meeting,” Thimmaraya Gowda, a JDS worker from Hassan, told The Newz Peg.

Where and how will this “Sahodarara Savaal” end is a matter of great curiosity to all keen political observers.
