Bengaluru, April 7: The JDS has urged the Election Commission not to permit release and screening of Sudeep’s movies in Karnataka till the polls are over.
“We also urge you to order removal of all banners, posters, flex and other publicity materials from public places as it tends to influence the voters,” the JDS legal wing Convenor Tanveer Ahmed has told the Election Commission.
Tanveer Ahmed said since Sudeep has identified with the BJP and announced that he will campaign for its candidates, it is only fair and in fitness of things to ensure a level playing field.

“Sudeep’s posters, banners and publicity materials are potential enough to influence the voters. These have to be removed,” Tanveer Ahmed added.
According to Tanveer Ahmed, Sudeep’s advertisement materials should also be scrutinized thoroughly and should not be allowed to be put up in public placed till the elections.
“Sudeep has sat with the Chief Minister in the press conference. He has said that he will campaign for the BJP candidates. That means he has identified with a political party. In this background, all the publicity material including advertisements should be confiscated,” Tanveer Ahmed explained.
