Bengaluru, April 2: BJP state general secretary and MLC N. Ravi Kumar on Sunday said that his party will resort to intensive campaigning by three top leaders starting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the entire month of April and till the first week of May.
“It is going to be a carpet bombing. We will campaign relentlessly. The entire month of April will see brisk, multi-dimensional activities in the campaigning. Modi, Amit Shah and Yogi will criss-cross the state several times. There will be no letup in our efforts,” Ravi Kumar said, while speaking with The Newz Peg.
Providing the details of the campaign, Ravi Kumar said Modi’s road show has been planned in about 15 places and each road show will cover not less than 10 to 15 Assembly segments. At the end of the road show, there will be a huge rally where people from as many as 10 other Assembly segments will be mobilized.
“In all, we have planned Prime Minister’s programmes in such a way he should be able to address a crore and odd people,” Ravi Kumar explained.

While Modi’s events will take place in as many places as possible in the state, Yogi Adityanath’s public rallies will be held where there is a strong Hindutva presence. “This is in order to consolidate the Hindutva wave,” Ravi Kumar said and added, “Amit Shah too will cover as many places as possible. Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh and Smriti Irani will cover the urban centres such as Hubli-Dharwad, Mangalore, Mysore, Belgaum, Shimoga and Gulbarga.”
The overall planning is being done at the guidance of Dharmendra Pradhan and Annamalai, the prabhari and saha-prabhari of Karnataka elections. Both Pradhan and Annamalai are going to camp in Bangalore and will be attending meetings of various wings of the party in state office, Malleshwaram.
Coimbatore MLA Vaanathi Srinivasan will arrive in city shortly and she will oversee the mahila work being carried out by the Mahila Morcha. Vaanathi Srinivasan, it may be recalled, defeated Kamala Haasan in the last Assembly elections from Coimbatore Urban Assembly constituency.
