Bengaluru,, March 25: Stepping up its fifht against the BJP, the Congress party on Saturday slammed the saffron party for adopting ‘unprincipled and opportunistic’ while taking on its opponents.
Speaking to The Newz Peg, senior Congress leader Prof Radhakrishna said the BJP is conspicuously silent on Khushboo Sundar, cine actor, who had said that ‘the word Modi should be equated with corruption’ in 2018 when she was in Congress.
“Now that Khushboo has joined the BJP, the saffron party has maintained a convenient silence. I challenge the BJP to show guts and take action against Khushboo,” Prof Radhakrishna added.
According to Prof Radhakrishna, there is a general feeling that anybody can become clean and good by joining the BJP no matter what their past misdeeds are.
“This general feeling has been proved right in case of Khushboo. Does the BJP have moral courage to initiate action against Khushboo?, Prof Radhakrishna asked.
He said the Congress party will continue to raise the issue of corruption and the BJP government’s alleged favouritism shown to Adani. “We will continue to demand a JPC probe into Adani issue. Nobody can threaten or stop us from raising questions in the interest of democracy and people’s welfare,” he added.
The Congress will continue its campaign against the BJP’s politics of “opportunism and intimidation” by mobilizing the people’s opinion, Prof Radhakrishna said.
