Bengaluru, Mar 25: In his visit to poll-bound Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a 13.71-km stretch of the Bengaluru Metro Phase II project from Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Krishnarajapura (KR Puram) on Saturday.
After the inauguration he took a metro ride at Whitefield station and was seen interacting with BMRCL employees and government school students.

Whitefield is known for IT Parks, Fortune 500 companies, hospitals and many other prominent places. It’s a major part of Bengaluru city. The 13.71-km stretch consists of 12 elevated stations that will connect lakhs of passengers from other important areas. The travel time between Whitefield and Krishnarajapura is expected to reduce to 22-24 minutes. The services along this route will commence tomorrow.

Earlier today, he inaugurated ‘Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research’ (SMSIMSR) & ‘Sri Sathya Sai Rajeswari Memorial Block’ at Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli in Chikkaballapura district.
“During ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the country has resolved to develop.

Many times people ask how India will develop in such a short time. There are so many challenges, so much work, how will it be completed in such a short time? Everyone’s effort is the only answer to this question. With ‘Sabka Prayaas’, India is on the path of becoming a developed nation,” he said after inaugurating SMSIMSR.
