Amritsar, March 18: After failing in their first attempt, the Punjab police on Saturday succeeded to nab Amritpal Singh, the newly emerged Khalistan supporter.
Amritpal Singh, who has been spewing venom against India and vociferously advocating for a separate Sikh nation, was on the run for quite some time.
Suspected to be propped up and financed by the dreaded Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan Amritpal Singh had emerged as a new headache to Punjab.
Amritpal Singh had created a sensation recently when he visited the Gurudwara with his rifle. “Khalistan is the dream of every Sikh,” Amritpal had told a motley crowd.

Intelligence agencies had intercepted encrypted messages between Amritpal Singh and a Pakistan-based new organization, Lashkar-E-Khalsa which acted as an evidence that Amritpal was propped up by the ISI.
Some individuals supporting Khalustan based in Canada, London and Australia, were also in touch with Amritpal Singh.
The Centre had told the Punjab government in no uncertain terms to arrest Amritpal Singh as “he was going too far” in his pro-Khalistan activities.

The Punjab police had suspended internet and mobile services before apprehending Amritpal Singh at Nakodar in Bhatinda district.
