Bengaluru, March 18: Embarassed by the presence of Silent Sunil, a person of questionable character, in the party, the BJP on Saturday cancelled his primary membership.
“Silent Sunil had enrolled as member at Chamarajpet Assembly Constituency under Bangalore Central district through missed call facility. We cancelled his membership today,” Bangalore Central District Committee President Manjunath, told The Newz Peg.
BJP sources told The Newz Peg that the party’s Central Leadership took strong exception to the state unit’s delay in cancelling the membership of the controversial person.
“It was only after the Central Office BJP looked into the heap of complaints it received from hundreds of workers, New Delhi cracked the whip,” sources explained.
The BJP central leadership was already red-faced when reports of Fighter Ravi greeting the PM went viral. Narendra Modi and Amit Shah decided that ‘enough is enough’ and the state unit was told in no uncertain terms to remove Silent Sunil from the party membership.
Meanwhile, Dharmendra Pradhan, incharge of Karnataka Assembly elections, has given strict instructions to the state unit to be ‘extra careful’ in choosing the associates.
“I don’t want embarrassing situations any more due to our lapse. Be careful,” Pradhan has told the state unit.
