As Yediyurappa was on his way to take part in the roadshow, a group of party men surrounded his car and raised slogans against Kumaraswamy. Following this, another group of workers gathered at the spot shouting slogans in favour of the MLA.
Though all the senior leaders tried to convince their party cadre to be patient until the rally concluded, all their efforts went in vain. Yediyurappa, who was said to be upset with the behaviour of the workers, did not get out of his car.
They said, he instead canceled the roadshow and rally and travelled to Chikkamagaluru.
MLA Kumaraswamy plays ‘victim’ role:

Speaking about the political turmoil in his constituency, MLA Kumaraswamy said that he is being targetted because he hails from a Dalit family. His caste is the reason behind this conspiracy.
“I am pained that a senior leader like Yediyurappa was not allowed to take part in the rally in Mudigere, to organise where lakhs of rupees were spent. I’m being targeted as I come from SC community,” he said while wedding tears in front of the media.
