Bengaluru, March 12: The world-famous toy industry based in Channapatna is likely to get a big boost with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi declaring that his aim is to make today’s artisans big entrepreneurs tomorrow.
At a webinar held on Saturday, Modi underlined the objectives of PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana.
“Our artisans of today need stability in business model and seamless market initiatives. We also need to make small artisans part of our value chains,” Modi said.
In this background, it is expected that Modi may make big announcement about the potential of the Channapatna toy industry. Already, the BJP government at the Centre has announced establishing a small-scale industrial estate exclusively for toys at Koppal.

Dwelling on mythology, the Prime Minister said Lord Vishwakarma is considered as the ultimate creator where he is seen holding various tools. “In our society, those who create with their own hands have a rich tradition. We need to preserve and promote this rich tradition at the global level,” Modi added.
Modi also emphasized the concept of Ram Rajya through Grama Swarajya of Gandhi and argued that the role of artisans in village life along with agriculture can bring changes in rural economy.
“Our government’s Mudra scheme has been helping the rural artisans in a meaningful manner,” the Prime Minister asserted.
Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway at 12 noon and address a public meeting at Gejjalagere in Maddur taluk of Mandya district which is not far from Channapatna.
