Bengaluru, March 11: Has Congress party found itself caught on a wrong foot over the issue of Bangalore-Mysore Expressway?
Going by the chronological events pertaining to this prestigious infrastructural project, it looks like that the Congress party was trifle off tangent in claiming credit for the project.

It was on 12th May in 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared that the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway would be taken up by the NHAI in a big way with a great push.
After that the project was pushed towards giving Administrative Approval in the Economic Affairs Committee, thanks to Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.
“Between 2018 and 2023 in these five years, neither the Congress nor the JDS visited the Expressway stretch to look at the pace of the work. When there was the problem of water logging, these leaders did not visit the spot. Instead, the Congress blamed the BJP and attributed it to the Centre. Now that the project is completed and ready for inauguration, the Congress chose to take credit. This is nothing but opportunistic politics,” PWD Minister C. C. Patil explained.

Patil, however, admitted that there was a proposal before the state government to develop Bangalore-Mysore highway when the NICE corridor project found itself in legal entanglements.
“However, the concept of developing the road as Expressway is that of the BJP and Modi. It was given a concrete shape by Gadkari,” Patil disclosed.
He appealed to the Congress leaders to cooperate with the BJP government and the Centre in infrastructural projects in the interest of the country.
