Sandur, February 24: ‘When I am here, why do you fear’ was the message Union Home Minister Amit Shah tried to convey to the Kalyana Karnataka BJP workers.
Shah addressed the core committee of the party of five districts – Bidar, Gulbarga, Yadgir, Raichur and Bellary – on Thursday.

When some workers expressed their apprehension and fear about the possible adverse impact of mining baron G. Janardhana Reddy’s party, Amit Shah said he will take care of Reddy’s party.
“Don’t worry. I will look after that party. When I am here, why do you fear. You just keep on working. Concentrate on booth work,” Amit Shah told the workers.
Janardhana Reddy recently launched his own outfit Karnataka Rajya Pragathi Paksha and announced his candidature from Gangavathi in Koppal district.

This announcement of Reddy – who was a very powerful minister in B. S. Yediyurappa cabinet – has caused some worry in the BJP workers of Bellary, Koppal Raichur and the neighbouring Vijayanagar districts.
During the meeting addressed by Amit Shah, Bellary MLA Somashekar Reddy and Gangavathi MLA Paranna Munavalli said they have developed apprehension about Janardhana Reddy’s move.
“My close relative, my younger brother’s wife Aruna Lakshmi is planning to contest against me in Ballari. What to do now” Somashekar Reddy said.
After listening to the woes of the workers, Amit Shah said he will look into the problem and take care of the matter. “You just concentrate on the work at the grassroot level. Go in for intense campaign. Rest leave it to me,” Amit Shah added.
