Bengaluru, February 19: IPS officer of the rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP) D. Roopa has accused IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri of violating the All India Civil Services Conduct Rules by sending her ‘not so decent’ photographs to several other male officers.

In her series of tweets made yesterday (Saturday), Roopa stated that the IAS and IPS officers are bound by the Civil Service Conduct Rules and no one should violate those rules.

‘One of the guidelines of that rules is that no officer should expose or reveal his/her private aspects but in this case Rohini Sindhuri had sent ‘not so decent’ pictures to other male officers. This is a clear violation of the Civil Service Conduct Rules. I appeal to the government to conduct a probe into this,” Roopa said, in her interview to a local Kannada channel.

“These photos are a little enticing,” Roopa has said in her tweet.

To be fair to Rohini Sindhuri, she has not gone to the media or joined issue with Roopa either verbally or through social media. She has maintained a rather stoical silence.

It may be recalled that Roopa had made certain remarks against Rohini Sindhuri when MLA Sa Ra Mahesh had levelled allegations Rohini Sindhuri when the latter was the Deputy Commissioner of Mysore district. B. S. Yediyurappa was the chief minister at that time.

Yediyurappa had transferred both Roopa and Sindhuri and had strictly warned both of them not to fight in public.

While Roopa was made Managing Director of Karnataka Handicrafts Development Corporation, Rohini Sindhuri was appointed as Commissioner of Muzrai. Both of them have been working in their respective places since then.

On her part, Roopa has said that she has nothing personal against Rohini Sindhuri.

But the question that has arisen among the public is simple and straight. IAS and IPS officers cannot have anything against each other on professional matters. Roopa says she has nothing against Sindhuri personally. So, what is the issue?

“There is something more than what meets the eye between the two lady officers. The government needs to find out what it is soon in the best interest of the image, credibility and reputation of the bureaucracy ” a senior officer told The Newz Peg.
