Chennai, February 11: Economist and senior BJP leader Dr Subramanian Swamy on Friday dropped a bombshell by saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s contribution to Hindutva was zero.

“Modi opposed the constitution of Ram Mandir till the end. He got his friend S. Gurumurthy to submit a petition at the Supreme Court while the trial was underway regarding the building of Ram temple. The PM wanted the land – allocated for building the temple – to be returned. The Supreme Court rejected the petition. It was during the tenure of former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao the land was nationalized,” Dr Swamy said, while speaking at the ThinkEdu conclave.

Stating that he didn’t have any personal differences with Modi, Dr Swamy, however, said that he was opposed to Modi in his economic policies and China policy.
Dr Swamy spoke on the subject “The global high table – Can India be a Vishwaguru” on the second day of the three-day ThinkEdu conclave in Chennai.
On the concept of Vishwaguru, Dr Swamy said India can become Vishwaguru only when it gives military response to China.
“Intelligence is required to become Vishwaguru. Gurus, sadhus and sanyasis devised six types of intelligence – cognitive, emotional, social, moral, spiritual and environmental,” Dr Swamy explained.
According to Dr Swamy, India was ahead of other countries centuries before they formulated modern technologies.

“I was pleasantly surprised to see a book titled Vimana Shastra where they had explained everything about aeroplanes, starting from how to build it, how to fly, what is the fuel to be used. It was suggested in the book that mercury can be used as fuel for airplane. This book was written several centuries ago,” Dr Swamy said.
