Bangalore, February 7: The state BJP’s four Rath Yatras to criss-cross the length and breadth of Karnataka will commence on February 20.
The contours, campaign theme and then intricate logistics of the four Rath Yatras were discussed and decided in the meeting held in ‘Jagannath Bhavan’, the party’s state headquarters here on Tuesday late evening.
According to the plan, the “Anubhava Mantapa” rath starting from Basavakalyan in Bidar district will be headed by former Chief Minister and Lingayat strongman B. S. Yediyurappa.

The ‘Kittur Chennamma – Sangolli Rayanna’ Rath starting from Belagavi will e headed by party’s national general secretary Arun Singh.

The third rath named ‘Malai Mahadeshwara’ will start from the temple town of Malai Mahadeshwara Hills and will be headed by state unit President Nalin Kumar Kateel.

The fourth rath named ‘Kempe Gowda Rath’ will start from Bangalore and will be headed by R. Ashok.
The route of all the four rath yatras has been planned in such a way that each of the yatra must touch 50 to 60 Assembly segments.

All the four rath yatras will converge and culminate at Davanagere on March 20. The state BJP has planned a mammoth rally of over 5 lakh people.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will address this gathering.
Tuesday’s meeting was guided by party’s organizational general secretary G. V. Rajesh, Vice President Nirmal Kumar Surana and General Secretary N. Ravi Kumar.
National organization general secretary B. L. Santosh guided the meeting deliberations via video conference from Delhi.
