Bengaluru, February 5: Former Pakistan President General Parvez Musharraf, who died in Dubai today, was born at Neharvali Haveli, in the walled-city of Old Delhi in the Undivided India before partition.
Parvez Musharraf had taken shelter in Dubai after he was accused of playing a role in the assassination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and in the killing of clerics.
But the most controversial, rather, breach of trust and faith, by General Musharraf when he planned an attack in Kargil at a time when the then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee took a goodwill mission in the form of Bus Yatra to Lahore in 2001.

During his visit to Delhi and Agra in 2001, Musharraf had expressed desire to visit the place he was born – Naharvali Haveli.
In fact, when he was taken to the premises, Musharraf identified the kitchen, the room which his parents used and the place where he used to play.
“But the icing on the cake came to him when an old lady, perhaps, 88 year old, walked upto him and asked if he recognized her. The visiting dignitary was shocked and surprised to see that lady. She was Musharraf’s care-taker when he was a six-year-old kid. That old lady was 12 at that time,” an official of the Ministry of External Affairs had told the media then.Musharraf was six year old kid when partition took place in 1947. His family decided to cross-over to Pakistan like many lakhs of people.

Musharraf had become angry during his one-on-one talks with the then Deputy Prime Minister L.K.Advani on the issue of handing over Dawood Ibrahim
“Dawood does not stay in my country” Musharraf told Advani. But when the Indian Prime Minister produced a dossier that confirmed the presence of Dawood Ibrahim in Karachi, Musharraf’s face turned red and sought to end the interaction abruptly with a severe disappointment and angry writ large on his face
