Bengaluru, February 4: Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday sought to downplay the havoc being played in the stock market by Adani company by saying that the regulators are handling the issue.
“The government has no role to play. It is the matter between the investor and the company. The government is closely monitoring the developments” Goyal said, while speaking to reporters at state BJP office.

According to Piyush Goyal, the financial institutions – LIC and SBI – have clarified that the finances of the people are safe and secured.
“I think we need to believe our own national institutions instead of depending on some foreign agency,” Piyush Goyal added.

Asserting that the budget presented by the finance minister has a lot of potential to take care of the infrastructural needs for the next quarter century, Goyal said that it was only a matter of time for India to become one of the three top economies of the world.
” This is Amrit Kaal budget that is futuristic as well as pragmatic with a long-range vision. This budget is to make India self-reliant, Aatmanirbhar,” the Union Minister said.

Replying to questions on the allegations of corruption as made out by Contractors Association, Goyal said there is no question of compromising on the issue of graft.
“Modi’s track-record is unblemished. We have proved every complaint. If there is anything specific, precise and prima facie documents, we will definitely probe,” Goyal explained.
On questions about B. S. Yediyurappa’ role in the party during the elections, Goyal said, “Yediyurappa is the most senior and tallest leader of the party. We all look forward for his guidance and blessings.”
