Kolar, January 31: Senior Congress leader Suddaramaiah’s son Dr Yathindra visited Kolar on Monday where he received mixed response.
While former MP K.H.Muniappa and his followers did not show up at an event, the workers loyal to another senior leader Ramesh Kumar were present in good strength.

Ramesh Kumar attended the event which was organized by MLCs Nazeer Ahmed, Anil Kuma.
Yathindra offered prayers at the famous Kolaramma temple before addressing gatherings at Basavanatha village, Kodiramasandra and Kallinatha villages.

“My father has expressed his desire to contest from Kolar. But the ultimate decision will be taken by the party high command,” Yathindra told reporters.
Muniyappa’s supporters were seen talking to the media that they had not received any instructions from the party’s state headquarters or DCC to attend the programmes.

“We are not sure whether these meetings are officially organized by the party or an initiative taken by individuals. There is lot of confusion and uncertainty,” a supporter of Muniyappa.
Going by the deep divisions that exist in the Kolar district unit of the party to which Yathindra was witness, it looks like that Siddaramaiah has to strive a lot to forge unity in the party before jumping into the fray.
