Bengaluru, January 30: BJP supremo B. S. Yediyurappa on Sunday reiterated that he will not contest the coming Assembly elections.
“But I have not retired from active politics. I will tour the state and see that the BJP comes to power with comfortable majority,” Yediyurappa said.
The Lingayat strongman said, “The party has given me respect, power, reputation and a standing in public life. I need to repay the gratitude. The only way I can repay my gratitude is by working for the party and bringing it back to power”
Yediyurappa was clear and categorical when he said, ” Raghavendra is already there in Shimoga. Vijayendra is coming. I am 80 now. I will not rest, I will not go home till the elections are over and the party comes to power”
The former Chief Minister said Vijayendra is already touring the state in his capacity as the State Vice President of the party.

“The party’s parliamentary board and the Central leadership will decide about his candidature for the assembly elections,” Yediyurappa said, in response to a question.
Meanwhile, Yediyurappa has told MLC N. Ravi Kumar, General Secretary to draw his tour programme throughout the state in such a way that he covers all the districts and cover maximum number of constituencies.
