Karnataka finds mention several times in PM’s monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’

Bengaluru, January 29: As many as four times Karnataka was mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his monthly Mann Ki Baat on Sunday.
Modi mentioned Anand Millet Centre in Kalburgi to buttress the fact that Millets have caught the imagination of the world.
“You know something. The UN declared International Day of Yoga and International Year of Millets only because of India’s efforts,” Modi said in his 97th edition of Mann Ki Baat.
Today’s 97th edition of Mann Ki Baat is the first in the year 2023.

Next, Modi took up Hulsoor Millet Centre in Bidar district which is promoting Millets. “This Hulsoor Millet Centre is helping the small farmers as well as the small traders. This has helped the rural economy,” Modi said.

Next, the Prime Minister mentioned the remarkable achievement made by the Bangalore-based Indian Institute of Science (IISc) where it has registered a whopping 145 patents in the year 2022.
“This means this premier Science institute has registered one patent in every five days. This Institute is the effort of two great minds, JRD Tata and Swami Vivekanand,” Modi added.

Later, Modi mentioned the name of E-Parisara, a Bangalore-based organisation that is handling tonnes of E-Waste.
“This E-Parisara organisation has been disposing of the E-Waste in a scientific and professional way and in a perfectly environment-friendly manner,” the Prime Minister explained.
