Sringeri Mutt to handover the ‘panchaloha’ idol of Goddess Sharada to Save Sharada Temple Committee on January 24.

Bangalore, January 21: The Seers of Sringeri Mutt – Sri Bharathi Therrtha Swami and Sri Vidushekara Swami – will handover the three-foot idol of Goddess Sharada to the Kashmir-based Save Sharada Temple Committee at Sringeri on Tuesday.
The idol of Goddess Sharada is made of ‘panchaloha’ – five-metal – which will be consecrated in the newly built temple at Teetwal, just along the LoC in Kashmir.
The panchaloha idol is gold plated and weighs 300-Kgs.
The idol of Goddess Sharada will be brought from Sringeri to Bangalore on 26th January and will be kept for public darshan at Kashmir Bhavan, in NAL Layout, Jayanagar East-End.
The press statement issued by R. K. Mattoo, President of Kashmir Pandit Association based in Bangalore, Goddess Sharada will be brought from Sringeri to Bangalore in a colorful procession in a custom-built rath.
“President of Save Sharada Temple Committee, Ravinder Pandita will receive the idol at a simple religious ceremony to be held at Sringeri on Tuesday,” Mattoo added.
The Save Sharada Temple Committee has planned a grand reception to Goddess Sharada all along the route from Sringeri to Bangalore.
Thousands of people are expected to assemble at various places as the Sharada Yatra traverses from Sringeri via Chikamagalur, Belur, Hassan, Channarayapatna, Kunigal and reach Bangalore city.
The Kashmir Pandit Association, Bangalore has made arrangements for the people of city to have the darshan.
Mass chanting of Soundarya Lahari, Lalitha Sahasranama, Kanakadhara stotra and Sharada Bhujanga stotra by thousands of women at Kashmir Bhavan in Jayanagar has been planned.
The Sharada Yatra will resume its onward journey towards Kashmir from Bangalore in January 28 towards North.
From Bangalore the Sharada Yatra will traverse through Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, finally to Jammu and Teetwal in Kashmir close to LoC.
