New Delhi, January 19: The Union Sports Ministry has asked Brij Bhushan, President of the Wrestlers Federation of India to resign immediately.
“Union Minister for sports Anurag Singh Thakur has asked Brij Bhushan to resign. The minister has also assured the wrestlers that a thorough probe will be ordered into the unsavory episode,” a top official disclosed.

The Centre stepped in after the charges of ‘sexual misconduct’ surfaced with the wrestlers alleging the Brij Bhushan’s conduct, behavior’s and body language were far from decent and in fact was suggestive”.
A 10-member team of wrestlers called on Anurag Thakur at his residence on Thursday late evening.
Thakur also assured the wrestlers that the training camp will be shifted to Delhi and it will be converted into a thorough professional body with adequate built-in safety measures.

The charges of the women wrestlers against Brij Bhushan include inappropriate body language, sexual misconduct, interference in personal life and posing personal and embarrassing questions.
Union Sports Ministry sources said that “if Brij Bhushan does not resign within 24 hours, he will be sacked”.
