Kalaburgi, Jan 19: PM Narendra Modi said that the Bharatiya Janata Party government does not stand for vote bank politics, but for development politics. He was speaking at an event in northern Karnataka’s Yadgiri district.
He was addressing the gathering after laying foundation stone and inaugurating development projects valued at over Rs 10,800 crores in Yadgiri and Kalaburagi districts.

“A double-engine government means double benefit, double welfare and double fast-paced development and Karnataka is the best example for this. It has been 75 years of India’s development and now the country is marching ahead with the focus on the next 25 years. These 25 years are going to be the Amrit Kaal for every citizen and state, during which we have to build a developed India,” PM Modi said.

Focusing on irrigation and water security projects in poll bound Karnataka, he said that both centre and state govt were giving importance to micro-irrigation, improving groundwater by funding the creation of lakes, and ensuring tapped water supply to rural households under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).

“Along with border security, coastal security and internal security, water security concerns should be tackled,” he added.
