New Delhi, December 26: The BJP has identified 160 Lok Sabha seats as “vulnerable” an increase by 16 seats from 144 to 160 since the last elections in 2019.
During a recent SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats) analysis and evaluation of the party’s prospects it was realized that the number of vulnerable seats are 160, an up by 16 seats from 144 to 160.

“This is due to change in the political equations in Bihar and Maharashtra. While the JDU severed its relationship with the BJP in Bihar, the BJP broke its relationship with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra. This has altered the number,” said a senior leader on the condition of anonymity.
The BJP expects such change in political equations as the 2024 poll comes nearer not only vis-a-vis BJP but among other parties and the Congress.
“All the anti-BJP parties will try to come together on a grand platform. We are aware of that but that will not affect the BJP’s prospects as such a loosely-knit arrangement without a common leader and common programme hardly carries any credibility and acceptability,” an office bearer explained.

But the BJP is taking the issue of “vulnerable” seats seriously in it’s own interest.
It is in this background the senior leaders incharge of organization held a meeting at Kolkata recently to discuss ways and means to strengthen the party in 100 seats in East and North-East.
“A similar exercise of brain-storming session will be held in Hyderabad in a day or two to take up discussion about remaining 60 seats,” sources added.
