Mysore, Nov.16: Days after BJP Mysuru MP Pratap Simha ordered officials to demolish the bus stop with 3 domes opposite JSS college in the city, Krishnaraja constituency MLA SA Ramdas in a statement has opposed the demolition.
BJP MLA Ramdas in a press release claimed that the domes were built on the bus stop to resemble the Mysuru Palace.

“The bus stop on Ooty road is currently under construction. It was built at a cost of Rs 10 lakh from the MLA’s funds. The domes on the bus stop were built as a reflection of the Mysore palace and not due to any other reason. I request the government to form an expert committee to study the design,” Ramdas said.

The BJP MLA also met Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday in Bengaluru and discussed the issue with him.
Reacting to Ramdas, Pratap Simha said he is firm on his decision. “Whatever may be the reason for the construction of the dome, I am committed to demolishing it from the bus stop,” he said.
Meanwhile, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has written to the Commissioner of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) asking them to demolish it.

“The bus stop has been constructed even though many times our Engineers have stopped the work within the National Highway…Accordingly one week time has been given to remove the controversial structure,” the letter read.
