Tumkur, Nov 5: The Karnataka opposition parties on Friday demanded resignation of Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar for the death of a pregnant woman after she was denied treatment for not producing her Aadhaar and maternity cards at the Tumukuru district hospital.
Taking to Twitter, Opposition Leader in the state assembly Siddaramaiah also demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident and sought dismissal of doctors accused of denying treatment.
“Sudhakar, who is responsible for the negligence of doctors that led to a pregnant woman’s death, must tender resignation without any delay. The accused doctors should be dismissed and a judicial inquiry initiated in the matter,” he said.

Sudhakar should immediately resign to avoid further deaths in future because hundreds of innocent lives were lost due to the irresponsibility of the health department during Covid, he said.
Siddaramaiah said none of the ministers are taken seriously by the government officials, and also they do not have any moral right to punish the erring officers because they themselves are corrupt.
People are dying due to potholes; are dying in hospitals and contractors are killing themselves for their inability to pay 40 percent commission, Siddaramaiah said.
“The BJP government is one that kills, not saves.” he alleged.
