Bengaluru, October 26: Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan Minister and Vice-Chairperson of Kempe Gowda Heritage Area Development Authority convened a meeting with District Commissioners and CEOs of Zilla Panchayats through video conference regarding sacred mud collection campaign.

The meeting was held in presence of Kempe Gowda Heritage Area Development Authority member Minister R.Ashoka, Minister ST Somashekhar, Narayana Gowda and Muniratna.
The vehicles engaged for collecting the mud to be used during unveiling of Kempe Gowda statue at BIA by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 11 have already reached 25 districts. The vehicles would also reach the remaining districts of Hassan, Mandya, Kolara and Dakshina Kannada soon, Narayan explained.

The prescribed guidelines should be followed and the message should be communicated to the concerned villages well before the vehicle reaches the place. The mud should be collected in the pouched provided for the purpose, he stated.

The mud thus collected should be segregated at respective district centres on Nov 7. The District Commissioners and CEOs should ensure that the vehicles reach the Bengaluru on Nov 8, Narayan said.
Official information need to be sent to the government about the status of the campaign at every district and the route map should be adhered while collecting the mud. The concerned officials should ensure that the mud would be collected from the lakes, rivers, reservoirs, kalyanis and pushkarinis at respective villages.

The campaign should be greeted with ‘purna kumbas’ when they reach the temples. The report should be submitted to the government on daily basis, he stated.
