Praveen Nettar Murder Case: Hindu workers picket MP Nalin’s Car

Sulya, July 27: The ruling BJP in Karnataka faced the heat of Hindu workers on Wednesday over the murder of BJP Yuva Morcha member Praveen Kumar Nettaru here. The protesters laid siege to the vehicle of MP and BJP state chief Nalin Kumar Kateel and did not allow him to step down.
BJP State Chief faces party workers anger:
The angry workers even attempted to turn Kateel’s vehicle according to eyewitnesses. RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat was also booed and chided by the crowd, which also raised anti-BJP slogans.
As Nalin, minister Sunil Kumar and Puttur MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor reached Bellare, activists expressed anguish and shouted slogans against Nalin Kumar Kateel and BJP. Thousands of activists expressed anguish against the MP, minister and the MLA.  

With the activists alleging that the murder is a revenge killing by miscreants belonging to minority community, the incident has taken a communal turn.
CM Bommai assures of stringent action:
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has strongly condemned the murder of party worker Praveen Kumar Nettaru in Sullia of Dakshina Kannada district. “The miscreants who carried out this brutal act will be arrested and punished according to law. Let Praveen’s soul rest in peace. Let the God give strength to his family to bear his loss,” he stated.

Speaking on hand overing the case to NIA CM Bommai said that, further course of action will be decided as soon as police complete their preliminary enquiry. When the police dept. files a detailed report govt will think of hand overing the case to National Investigation Agency.
Karnataka Police seeks Kerala police help:
Karnataka police are seeking the help of neighbouring Kerala police in connection with the murder of BJP Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Kumar Nettaru in Dakshina Kannada district of the state, said Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday.
“Karnataka police are in touch with Kerala state counterparts. SP Mangaluru has spoken to Kasaragod SP and our DG has spoken to Kerala DG as well. Very soon culprits would be arrested,” Bommai stated.

Thirty-one-year-old Praveen Kumar Nettaru, a member of BJP Yuva Morcha and a resident of Sulia was hacked to death on Tuesday night. Two unknown bike-borne miscreants had attacked him with swords and fled the scene. Praveen owned a chicken shop at Peruvaje Cross, Bellare village near Puttur.

Though Praveen was immediately rushed to a hospital, he succumbed to his deep injury in the neck. Hindu activists are claiming that Praveen was targeted as a revenge to the incident of murder of a youth belonging to minority community four days ago.
Section 144 was imposed in the Puttur, Sullia and Belthangady area and security was tightened as protests erupted after the incident.
