Bengaluru, June 30: It seems voices of discontent over the delimitation of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) wards are growing louder with each passing day. Disappointed residents began organizing protests against the delimitation of wards.
They blamed the panel headed by CV Raman Nagar MLA S Raghu for the unscientific and unconvincing method adopted for the delimitation of wards.
A few days ago, residents of Kengeri staged a protest demanding restoration of the Kengeri ward and canceling the proposal to merge Kengeri with the newly formed ward – Bande Mutt. Residents of Kasturinagar have also objected to dividing their area into two wards.
Residents of Cox Town staged a protest on Wednesday demanding restoration of the Sarvagna Nagar ward. They complain that it would be difficult for them to go to New Byappanahalli which has no access to road as the railway authorities recently closed the road between the railway over bridge and New Byappanahalli.

“Our area has more population and election booths than New Byappanahalli. Removing the name of Sarvagna Nagar from the list of wards is an insult to sage Sarvagna. I demand the BMBP authorities restore Sarvagna Nagar ward and cancel the proposal to name the ward after New Byappanahalli to respect the sentiments of residents,” said NS Ravi, president of Bharathinagar Residents’ Forum.
