MANGALURU, June07: Congress MLA from Mangaluru, UT Khader on Monday lashed out at pro-hijab protesters, asking them to visit Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, or any other country like these to realize India’s beauty and culture and advised them not to take the liberty they enjoy in the country for granted.
“You will understand India’s beauty, culture, and opportunities that it offers when you go outside. Here you have the liberty to talk to anybody, hold press meetings and do anything,” he said.
Taking a jibe at some students of University College, Hampankatta, and Government First Grade College, Uppinangady, who have been demanding that the authorities allow them to attend classes wearing hijab. Khader was addressing a press conference at the Congress office in Mangaluru.
“When you go outside India and visit Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and other Islamic nations you will realize India’s beauty, culture, and opportunities it offers. Here you have the liberty to talk and do anything,” he told reporters on Monday.
Khader advised the protesting girl students to focus on education and take the advice of their parents before making hurried decisions. “There cannot be a separate rule for 15 odd students. Courts cannot give verdicts as per your wishes,” he said.

The Congress leader also ruled that the protesting girl students resorted to disconnecting his phone calls when he was attempting to resolve the hijab dilemma.
Khader urged the Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner K V Rajendra to clear the confusion on the dress code in Hampanakatta University College which is an offshoot of a decision of the university syndicate.
