Nagpur, June 03: Breaking his silence on the Gyanvapi mosque row, RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat questioned the need of looking for ‘Shivling’ in every mosque. He went on to say that, RSS is not in favor of launching any such movements in the country.
Speaking at an RSS training camp at Nagpur, Bhagwat said that the Gyanvapi mosque has a history that cannot be modified. That history was not created by us. Today’s Hindus or Muslims are not responsible for that. Long before, Muslim invaders destroyed Hindu temples for seeking freedom for the country. There are thousands of such temples.
“Ancestors of Muslims were Hindus. Hindus are not opposing Muslims. Invaders destroyed temples to break the morale of Hindus. There is a section of Hindus which want to rebuild such temples,” he said.
Questioning the current trend of demanding surveys of every mosque in the country, “One should not raise a new issue every day. Why escalate these issues? Gyanvapi had our emotions for generations. But, why look for a shivling in every mosque? Even Muslims offer prayers in the mosque. Though it has come from outside of the country, they have accepted it and we are fine with it. We do not oppose any kind of worship.”
He asked RSS karyakartas to focus new strategy ‘Vyakti Nirman’ (character Building). After Supreme Court’s verdict on Ayodhya, RSS is not keen on launching any such movement.
“Whatever I had to say, I said it on November 9 (Ayodhya verdict date). Contrary to the nature of RSS, we participated in the Ayodhya Ram janmabhoomi movement due to historical reasons. We have successfully completed the task. We are not thinking of any other such movement,” he added.

He urged people to find an amicable solution to the Gyanvapi mosque row. If the issue gets escalated then, everyone should accept the verdict of the court without raising questions about it.
