BESCOM MD requests industry people to avail power subsidy schemes

Bengaluru.May14 : To provide uninterrupted power supply to high tension (HT)consumers ( Industrial units) in Chandapura division, the BESCOM MD P.Rajendra Cholan, Director (Technical)D.Nagarjuna and senior officials of BESCOM held a interaction meeting with industrialists on Friday.
The purpose of the meeting to provide quality power to HT consumers as they are availing open access/wheeling energy to the industrial units. BESCOM MD and Director Technical (DT) were briefed the HT consumers about discount energy rate scheme, special inventive scheme and green energy tariff offered by BESCOM.
BESCOM MD Mr.Cholan has requested industrialists of Chandapura to avail power subsidy schemes of BESCOM and utilize more BESCOM power to get benefits. The said schemes are offering to open access and wheeling consumers in BESCOM region.
BESCOM has decided to form a marketing team, the team will approach HT consumers to explain them about benefits of the schemes. The marketing team will request HT consumers to enroll schemes for getting benefits.
BESCOM MD has also assured that he would consider the request of HT consumers that the continuation and extension of schemes for 5 to 10 years. The request of HT consumers would be proposed by BESCOM in its tariff filing submission to KERC.
During interaction a few HT consumers requested for green energy certification under Discounted Energy Rate Scheme(DERS) at Rs.6/unit discounted rate tariff. BESCOM MD said that the proposal has been sent to KERC and reply is awaited.
Further he instructed Executive Engineer (EE) of Chandapura division to address the power supply issue of HT consumers and he also directed EE to conduct frequent meeting with industrial association.
Bengaluru Rural Area Zone EE of BESCOM has promised the voltage fluctuation of dedicated feeders will be addressed by conducting coordination with HT consumers and KPTCL officers.
BESCOM has assured HT consumers to install a new service station for industrial areas and strengthen its existing staff for speedy restoration of power supply.
Meanwhile EE of Chandapura division assured to address additional load enhancement issue of M/s MTR and M/s Syngene. During interaction, the BESCOM has ensured to provide dedicated feeders to bifercafe industries with other category high density consumers to improve the reliability. To avoid interruption, one time maintenance of RMU and Transformers will be taken up in Chandapura division.
BESCOM assured to address delay in issue of billing of open access consumers. The provisional bill will be issued to them, BESCOM officials assured in the meeting.
