Bengaluru, Jan 10: In-charge Minister of Ramanagara district Dr. CN Ashwatha Narayana has hit out at KPCC President DK Shivakumar, saying he is exhibiting a drama in the name of Mekedatu project. He has also dubbed the padayatra as a ‘march of repentance.

The minister carried out a scathing attack on the KPCC chief and said he had the least concern towards the woes of the common man. Speaking to reporters on Monday, Ashwatha Narayana said the police have registered FIR against 30 members for violating COVID norms during padayatra and appropriate action will be initiated against them.

“Mekedatu project got approved in the year 2013 when Siddaramaiah was heading the Congress government in the state. But Congress did not take a step forward with regard to this till 2019. Why Shivakumar, who was then the minister, remain quiet?”, Narayana questioned, adding that Shivakumar had not even once raised this issue on the floor of the house.

“The public knows the true colour of the trio of Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar, and MB Patil. Shivakumar is conducting this padayatra just to boost up his own image within the party. This would not help in any way to resolve the issues related to the project,” the minister said, lambasting Shivakumar that he is deluged with the idea of becoming the Chief Minister.
