Davangere (Karnataka)Nov.29 : Scotching the rumours about imminent enforcement of lockdown in the state, Karnataka chief minister, Basavaraj Bommai on Monday said that as of now there is no plan to enforce any lockdown in the state partially or fully.
Bommai told reporters here that people need not panic at this juncture and Covid situation in the state is still very much under control, hence, the state has not thought about enforcing any lockdown in the state.
“We are taking every possible step to contain the spread of the dreaded virus be it in schools or colleges or elsewhere. We are keeping close watch on the virus spread and its mutations too. As a result of these measures, we have not yet arrived at a conclusion to declare any holidays for educational institutions in the state,” he explained.

On the two South African returnees testing Covid positive, he claimed that the state was taking steps to contain the spread of Omicron variant too. “Those who are entering the state from overseas are being examined. A strange symptom has been found in a person who came from South Africa and the sample has been sent to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) laboratory for testing. The report is awaited,” he added.
