Chennai, Nov. 27: South actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu bagged a lead role in BAFTA-winning Welsh director Philip John’s next venture “The Arrangements of Love”, which is based on Timeri N Murari’s novel by same name.
Elated actress shared this on her Instagram, posting a photo with Mr John who is the director of the movie while thanking the film’s team for choosing her.
Samantha began her post saying A whole new world. “I last auditioned in 2009 Ye Maya Chesave (her superhit Telugu debut movie). 12 years later, I am auditioning again. I felt very same nervousness…” she said.
“I guess it’s not every day you get to audition for a BAFTA award winning, critically acclaimed director of your most favourite series ‘Downton Abbey’,” she added.
“Jumping with joy that you picked me sir #PhilipJohn, Thank you @Sunitha.tati and @gurufilms1 for the opportunity. Can’t wait to start this exciting journey,” the thrilled actress said this while shared the news on social media and posting a photo with the director.
Samantha will be portraying a bisexual investigator with traditional parents who accompanies the protagonist on his adventure, according to her interview to Los Angles based Variety magazine.
After her split with Telugu superstar, Akkineni Naga Chaitanya, Samantha has lined up two back-to-back bilingual films and now signed her first foreign film.
According to Variety, Samantha has joined the cast of Arrangements of Love. The film follows a Welsh-Indian man who is in search of his estranged father during an impromptu visit to his homeland. Samantha, who runs a detective agency, helps him reunite with his father.
The shooting of Arrangements of Love is expected to commence in August 2022.
