Dwarkeesh, a rare actor who rendered service to Kannada: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah

Bangalore : April-17 Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that Dwarkeesh is a rare actor who rendered service to Kannada.

He was speaking to the media after paying his last respects to the mortal remains of Dwarkeesh, renowned film actor and producer in Ravindra Kalakshetra, today.

Great service and contribution

Dwarkeesh has given immense contribution and service to Kannada cinema as an actor, director and producer. His service can never be forgotten. He has given good performance not only as a comedian but also as a lead actor, CM said

‘Dr: Raj Kumar and his pair was very good. He also acted in Vishnuvardhan and Ambareesh’s films. He has seen many ups and downs in life. However, he did not leave Kannada film production and acting,’the CM said.

‘He endured hardships and contributed to the development of Kannada film industry. Born in Hunsur, Mysore,he had a lot of love for his hometown.’ The Chief Minister recalled travelling in a helicopter to Mysore with Dwarakeesh and the discussions they had on politics, cinema and social issues.

‘May his soul rest in eternal peace. I prayed to God to give strength to his family to bear their loss’, the CM said.

Social work through eye donation

‘Dwarakeesh donating his two eyes is commendable. He has rendered social service even in his death. He said that the Kannada film industry has been left with a void which cannot is irreplaceable’ he said.

‘Dwarkeesh also died on the same day as his wife, may their souls rest in peace’, he said.
